After all the troubles you may have had at the gas pump, you might be tempted to look elsewhere for transportation needs. Skyrocketing prices, surly attendants, lack of time for a DIY fill up – it all adds up after a while.

You’re sick of it. but what’s a driver to do?

You could pick up an electric car at your local dealer ship, that’s one thing. Major automakers like Nissan have been rolling out new vehicles, and electric cars have been around for a while.

In an interesting bit of news from the Vancouver Sun, we’re hearing some more from the electric car front. As the article goes on to say…  

Over the next couple of years, though, tens of thousands of electric cars will hit the laneways of Europe, the streets of the United States and the gleaming highways of Asia. These new battery-powered vehicles have much longer ranges than their predecessors — up to 250 miles in the case of the Tesla TSLA.O Roadster, but mostly about 100 miles — and are likely to be the first to sell in large numbers.

Of course, like any good technology, there are a few kinks to work out. The biggest one is where would owners of these cars charge up? Some are calling for charging at home, and some want roadside stations where you simply switch for a fully charged battery.

No matter where you stand, there is surely more to come. Stay tuned…
